6th – Federal Budget

We are just finishing up our exploration of the Executive Branch of the federal government so why not end on a discussion many of us get excited about: money!  We looked at federal government spending (pre-COVID where spending was more normalized).  Students got to decide on the money allocation of our government and for each department.

After figuring the amount out, they had to use their math skills to calculate the percentage of the total spending for each section of the government.  It was a great chance for them to use their math skills in figuring out percentages.  One student even mentioned that every class is turning into math class!
