6th + 8th – How to get on the Supreme Court

With the passing of RBG over the weekend, surely students were going to inundated with information about the Supreme Court and nomination process.  Much of this information will likely be conversations they overhear in passing or tidbits they hear on the news.

Today, we talked about the simple nomination process for Supreme Court Justices. A President (executive branch) appoints, the Senate (legislative branch) either approves or rejects, and candidate then can become a Supreme Court Justice (judicial branch). It is that simple! Feel free to engage in a conversation with your child about the upcoming election, as well as the vacancy in the Supreme Court.
