7th – Classroom Economy, Day 3

We picked our chairs and we picked our desks to start off the day!  Each pick was based on not only personal interest in that location/seat, but also just how expensive it was.  Our couch for example is a pricey $100 a week (some students had to pass on that because it was out of their range) whereas other seats were a measly $10 a week.  Students then had to record their costs on their balance sheet.

The real interesting part of the day was when students had to pay their bills that were due.  Every student has some sort of debt (student, medical, or credit card) and owes the banks.  Every student owes me for the utilities (keeping this place operational is not cheap).  Every student also now has rent to pay.  At the end of class, I had about 40 different personal checks from students, ultimately paying me for the services they use.  If only these were real checks I was depositing!
