7th Sukkah – Day 19 – The End!

Some say endings are bitter sweet.  There is nothing bitter about this ending!  We finally finished (albeit there is a ton left we could do, but a deadline is a deadline and we cannot change the calendar).  What a process this has been; amazing overall work.  It is weird thinking that less than 2 months ago, this entire thing (the Sukkah) was but a cardboard cutout sitting in my classroom.  Now, it is an actual structure sitting in front of the school.  Looking at the journey, we did great, but each day was filled with little battles and moments of progress.

Although each of the students blogged this year for each day, I think next year I need to be more intentional about linking learning targets/goals to each blog post and have them centered around a particular theme.  Having them prepared in advance would be helpful as well (meaning giving the kids a booklet at the beginning of the Sukkah project of our blog posts rather than day by day).

our MJDS decoration not only bled onto the sheet, but the rain had its way with the cartons.

some last minute efforts to work on decorations.

doing a few gluing projects for decorations.

just trying to make sure there is more shade than sun!

    • Yes I have. As a matter of fact, many of them steal photos from my blog to take to put on their own blog. I did use those as examples for the students when we first started.

  1. This amazing project is all about process and student ownership. I am so proud of our students for their collaboration, perseverance and passion. None of this is possible without expert facilitation by Adon Kaufman.
