8th Grade: Capstone

Students are now working on their action steps, identified in their soapbox speeches and expanding upon them to make a positive change or inform people how they can make a positive change. Many of our student decided to teach about their topic. For example, Sarah plans to teach 3rd and 4th grade about animal testing and avoiding products which use animal as test subjects. Hanna and Rebecca are teaching about Anti-Antisemitism at St. Monica’s one of our partner schools. Others are starting awareness initiatives: Joe is writing an editorial, Indy wants to make signs promoting immigrant acceptance, and Sophia started her own feminist club here at MJDS. I am so excited to see how students decide to make an impact and their reflections around our essential questions, as we move into the end of the school year.
