LP Conversation: Phonics Program Discussion – How does Jody feel about where we are?  Scope & Sequence for all of this – we need it!

Does not feel like LLI is addressing student needs – do we need to do more? GM in particular.

Collaboration with Jill – feels so good

pushing in, pulling out + pre teaching for H – working really well and helping H feel successful

way more assessment at the beginning of the year- know kids better at this point in the year than ever before- following LLI but adding in extra word work/things they need based on holes

Want more phonics — all need to be intentional about the phonics we are teaching and be consistent

– Wilson program for intervention ? wants to know more. Will go to this presentation @ conference

-Using Pete Bowers book for tools and lessons

  • not sure if putting up agenda is valuable for kids

Next Steps:

  1. Use Agenda to write down routine- verbally share the WHY behind activities
  2. Record a lesson – with purpose to be helpful not judgmental

 

Potential Goal: Presentation with kids- “mumbled jumbled”
