Videoing Teachers- can be done with learning partners,  3’s- Karrie

4’s- Aaron, and 5’s- Jori-

Why: to build a library of lessons and activities that we can view and use for learning, questions, conversations between classes and teachers

Non-negotiable- we’ve all shared thoughts on this on google doc (or will) Seniors aligned to common core and 3’s and 4’s have common curriculum. What are the skills we want each child to leave our room with? Conversations between teachers in room and then a give and take between classes to establish goals. Develop a base line- some kids will have these skills, and some won’t but it informs planning, projects, activities to be intentional.

Then this informs assessing throughout the school year and checking back to see if we are reaching these goals.

This then informs what we will do for the kids.

Concern: -Not using these big “goals” for labeling or for giving false information.

-Assessing being done appropriately and not to the detriment of other skills.

  • Good to have a basic list of what our class looks like and where/ what skills need to be worked on in next year’s class.
  • As we figure out these goals (interests), we will then decide how these will be shared with next teacher.

Going forward: Look at the noted goals and see how they relate to other classes and what we all agree on

What do we need next? Should we be looking at other programs to see what we compare with (districts, schools)? Makes sense to focus on what is best interest of our kids going forward as opposed to what makes us different than other places. Parents have asked about comparisons so this leads this question. *Maybe this leads to us finding an EC answer to this question.

-Maybe we need a structure in place for meetings?

*Review things, then what we need now, and then what we need going forward- structured agenda for meetings
