Initial LP Meeting

Reviewed Coaching kids and goals for the year. Set up expectations for work for MB and tied to an incentive. Set a goal to finalize initial coaching meetings by end of day on 9/22/20.

For our next meeting, CB come with what you want goals to be for the semester.

 

12/4/19

Sportsmanship: Seems to be better this year. Less issue. A lot goes to that Cliff is continuing to push expectations.

Coaching:

*OG we will meet with parents to discuss math

*HK: need to do a checkin with teachers on homework.  Set up a plan for homework completion.

 

11/22/19

*Reflectiosn next tuesday in PE.  Homework will beto do the responses due the week after Thanksgiving.

*Discussion on room space and Cliff will work with Maddie on revamping the room to make it their own.

*team building to be next tuesday after gym.

Goals for PE:

  1. My PE classes will no expectations and routines so well that a sub can walk in and the class will run itself.
  2. Create opportunities for cross curricular collaboration between PE and other content areas.

Goals for Student Coaching:

  1. More effective communication with my students and their parents.

  • team building challenge went well.  debrief with 8th went well. No debrief for 5/6 due to time.
  • add to schedule 1x/ever two weeks to do a 10 minute team building challenge

  • 5/6: catchball tournament, kick ball and matt ball, misc gym games

  • during 8th debrief, 8th seemed to understand . Some students struggled with getting a better understanding of why communication is important.
  • Here are the questions I will be asking the students after the team building activity is over: What was the point of this activity? If we did this activity would  you do anything differently? What was one thing you did well and one thing you think you could improve on?

  • healthy competition…kids were reflecting on it during their last reflection
  • Cliff will bring an idea for how to incorporate health tips into PE
  • Looking at next year….5th and 6th could be together.  For 7/8 can we have them together one day and apart one day.

  • Gym uniforms usage is way better

  • 5/6 went well today.   all kids in uniform.  kids did really well with game in class
  • 7/8: student told CB that not all kids are trying on a team.  CB addressed with the class. good positive encouragement today. ..better then Tuesady

  • How will you continue the good feel from today? Reviewing healthy competition, explaining that a champion isn’t always the person that”wins” the game. Reminder of grades

How to address  competitiveness in tournament:

  • every class emphasizing the “green” stay out of the red”
  • reminding of expectations at each class
  • competition based on sportsmanship only.  Champion is the team that has the best sportsmanship to each other and other teams.
