Sukkah Day 19

1. Now that the Sukkah is finished, what would you do differently next time.  Explain in at least three sentences why you think that.  I would make sure everyone was working on a sukkah instead of some of us working on  the sukkah and some of us working on decorations.  I would  make sure that everyone was working together because it would of made the building process quicker.  I would make sure it that everyone was communicating better because we would’ve gotten way more done

2. Now that the Sukkah is finished, what are you most proud of and why!  Explain in at least three sentences. I am proud of finishing it because it took us a long time but we finally finished it. I am proud of learning how to build using different types of things in the maker space. And I am proud of learning how to build a wall.

3. What are three pieces of advice you have for the current 6th graders as it relates to their Sukkah?  I would tell him to make sure we’re working together, I would tell them to make sure that everyone’s communicating, and I would tell them to make sure everyone’s working on it and telling each other what’s going on.

Sukkah Day 17

1. Sukkot represents impermanence (something that should not be permanent). Explain if you believe or disagree that our Sukkah, which is safely standing on its own, is violating that. I think it’s safely standing on its own because we made it so it would stand up by itself with no extra pieces of wood.

2. Describe how this Sukkah project has changed your perspective (how has it changed, what has it changed about, has it changed for the better/worst). It has changed my perspective because at the beginning I thought we would have been in our wall groups but we have all been helping eachother and working together.

3. Explain how you have used your body thus far to build this Sukkah. I have used my body to build the sukkah for example carry walls, put in the studs, and using tools.

4. How do you plan on getting guests into the Sukkah? We made the sukkah in the front so everyone will see it so that will help and by everybody telling there family’s.

5. What are some activities you wish to do in the Sukkah? I wish to do sukkot rituals and playing games .

3. Give a step by step account of what you have done so far to get our Sukkah up to where it is today. We started off with building a frame with studs in our groups then we worked all together to put all of the walls together.

Here we are drilling in a hole so we can use a carriage bolt to keep the walls together.

Here we are putting all the side wall onto the other 3 walls and putting in pieces of wood on the sides so the walls don’t fall down.

Here we are putting on pieces of wood so the walls don’t fall down we are screwing them in and then we will take them off once the walls are secured.
