Mold Terrarium Follow-up

Task 1

Take a picture of your moldy bread (I know… it looks… interesting LoL)

Task 2

Post your picture to your blog. Answer the following questions in the same post:

  1. Once the mold began to grow, how did the appearance of the mold change over time? Once the mold grew it started to grow every where so it grew really fast.
  2. Hopefully, when we buy foods at a grocery store they are not moldy. What do you think food manufacturers do to foods to prevent the growth of mold?  (Hint! Using your Alan November research skills, try googling this answer. Be sure to include your source when you answer this on your blog.) They use a spray that makes the food more colored and it makes it so it doesn’t mold.
  3. Many fungi are decomposers. What does this mean? (Hint! Think back to our discussions and research before break) Decomposers are organisms that break down dead or decaying organisms, and in doing so, they carry out the natural process of decomposition.
  4. Make a list of useful things fungi can do. (Hint! Think back to our discussions and research before break) It crates some medicine, it is different kinds of mushrooms.

Task 3

Find two classmates posts (must be in different mold terrarium groups) and make observations on the similarities and differences between your mold and theirs. Why do you think they look different? Why do they look the same?

It looks different because my group has more mold then the other group  has.

It is black and red and brown and my groups is all green.
