I accomplished getting all my materials today (for the most part) and I also accomplished figuring out where I’m getting the rest of my materials for this project. I was able to accomplish this because everyone in my class was listening and my partner and I worked well together and did a lot of teamwork and compromises and gave each other feedback and good suggestions or thoughts that improved our plan and thoughts.

Bloxels

Reflection:

1.I literally know nothing about Bloxels. I  have never used them before. I have never used the app. I have never seen anyone use them before but I have heard of them.I am most excited to learn all the steps to making a video game with them!

2.So first we are going to make a snail out of Coin.Next we are going to start making a rainbow shell for the snail. We are going to make this out of Exploding Block, coin, terrain, water, enemy, and power-up.Then we are going to make the worms out of story block. Our goal is to make a Rainbow Snail! This is connecting to to science as in prey vs predator.

Here is a picture of what we are thinking our snail should look like:

Q&A on Graph and Picture of Graph

Q and A on Graph:

Explain the trend of increases and/or decreases for both the rabbit and wolf populations between the years 1930-1950.

The populations of wolves from 1930-1950 was about between 0 and 40.40 was the highest the population ever got between that time period. It really changed around the time of the 1940’s.It went down by about 30 or 35. That’s where it mostly changed!

The populations of rabbits from 1930-1950 was between 0 and 80.80 was the highest the population ever got between that time period. It really changed and went up around 1935.It went up by about 60 around 1950.That’s where it mostly changed!

Look at the years 1987 and 1993. Explain your thinking as to why there is such a large difference in population numbers between those five years.

Maybe it’s because other animals didn’t have food or enough food and they went to go search down Rabbits or Wolves to eat because they were one of the only animals that they could eat and or one of the only animals left?!

Analyze the population changes between 2000-2005.

For the Rabbits in 2000 it went up from about 10 to about 30.Then in 2005 from about 30 it went up to about 85.

For the Wolves at 2000 it went from about 30 to about 50.Then in 2005 it went from about 50 and went down to about 23 or 24.

Mold Terrarium Follow-Up

Here is a picture of our bread:

Here are some questions on the moldy bread:

  1. Once the mold began to grow, how did the appearance of the mold change over time? The appearance of the mold din’t change really at all because the bread is still NOT moldy at all and I think that’s because we id not put enough water in the jar.
  2. Hopefully, when we buy foods at a grocery store they are not moldy. What do you think food manufacturers do to foods to prevent the growth of mold? I think they put certain chemicals on the food but they are not bad chemicals and also you can NEVER fully prevent mold from growing on anything but they prevent it from growing later than it would have if you didn’t put chemicals on it.
  3. Many fungi are decomposers. What does this mean? This means that decomposers break down fungi.
  4. Make a list of useful things fungi can do. Fungi Can:Make Medicine, It can be good to eat in mushrooms or in cheese if there is yeast, and it can also help to decompose things.I used this link to help me: http://microbemagic.ucc.ie/about_microbes/good_fungi.html

Moldy Bread Day 7

Here is a Picture of the Moldy Bread:

:

The Bread is getting a little more moldy but not to moldy. Although definitely after winter break it will be SUPER moldy I guarantee! Also I never really saw any moldy bread so maybe there is a little mold on the bread but I just don’t realize it. But after winter break I’m sure I’ll be able to notice it. My guess was wrong because I assumed that after a week the bread will be moldy and I was I think wrong.

Day 2 of Moldy Bread Q and A

Here is a picture of the bread:

Q:Has anything changed on the bread?

A:Not really although the bread is slightly changing colors a little bit to a darker color in the middle.

Q:Has mold grown and if not, does your bread look any worse for wear?

A:No mold has grown although the bread is kind of falling apart because it is getting squished in the little jar.It is also getting a little crusty and changing a little bit into a darker color.

Molding Bread Day 1

This is first day of the molding bread process and here is a picture of the bread on the first day:

Mold Q&A:

Q:How long do you think it will take for your bread to mold.

A:Maybe about 5 or 6 days.

Q:Do you want to add any more food to you jar with the bread inside and why or why not?

A:I do not because if you put more than 1 piece of bread together another piece of bread might not be able to mold as well because another piece of bread is kind of like “taking up their space”.But then on the other hand I might like to because it would be cool to see which pieces of bread got more moldy than others. So in all I think either way would be REALLY cool to see since I never saw moldy bread.
