Newspaper Shoe Challenge

Today’s Challenge: Using only newspaper, 24 inches of tape, and one scissors, you and your partner need to create one shoe that fits either you or your partner’s foot. The shoe must be able to come on and off without falling apart.

Teamwork Rubric Focus (Communication):

My goal for communication today within my team is not to be so difficult with my teammates.

My Individual Plan <insert photo of sketch and/or type out the plan>

I am going to make a slide. This shoe would be easy to make and easy to put on or off.

Why I think my plan will be successful: Because it is easy to put on and take off and then it would be sturdy because we could use all the tape on the on the strap.

Our Group’s Plan <insert photo or sketch and/or type out the plan>

Our plan is to make slip-on slippers.

We chose this plan because it was a combination of both of my and Smishelow21’s plans.

Possible challenges that may come up during construction we could have not enough tape or we can tear the shoe.

Each partner will be responsible for I will be the taper and Smishelow21 will cut.

After the Build

Our design worked well because it was somewhat sturdy and easy to get on and off.

This activity was challenging because my foot was really wide so we had a hard time getting the strap length just right.

This activity was comfortable because our design was simple and easy t0 make.

I met my teamwork communication goal by not getting frustrated so I wouldn’t be difficult.

A strength of my partnership was we didn’t argue once.

An area of growth for my partnership is being a little bit faster workers.

For our next challenge, my new teamwork communication goal for myself is to not be negative at all.
