Timeline Activity Reflection

How did the events we looked at today lead to the cause of the Civil War?

This was because every event that happend led to another event because if it were not for one event, the civil war would have never happened. One example can be the book Uncle Tom’s Cabin because this led to people on the North side agreeing with the book because they thought that slaves deserved to be free. Meanwhile the South side thought that African American’s should be slaves because this book made them rage. This is part of the reason why the South side wanted to fight.

How did this activity show us the lead up to the Civil War?

Look at what I said above.

What did you find most valuable about this activity?

I found it was interesting (as I mentioned above) that the Civil War might have never happened if it were not for one person, one action, or one event. I already knew this before in a way, but to think about it and go more in depth with it makes it even more interesting!

Why is it important to learn about the events that lead to the Civil War?

It is important because as I mentioned above, if one event didnt happen, then another one wouldnt and in the end the Civil War might have never happened. Its also like a chain reaction and as we learned in class today, cause and effect as well.

Why do you think your event lead to the Civil War?

Look at question 1 for answer. (Also, that was my event for this activity)
