Chicken Mummification Day 3

Date of Mummification: 12-18-17

Group Roles:

Materials Manager/Clean Captain:S

Chat Captain/Timekeeper:J

Picture Taker:L

Procedure Police/Reflector: D

Procedure:

STEP 1. We used our hands to rub the baking soda and salt mixture off the chicken

STEP 2. We got a spoon to scoop up the mixture INSIDE the chicken because you need to change the outside and inside of the chicken so you can dry both inside and outside of chicken.

STEP 3. We cleaned out the tin foil pan that the chicken was in with wipes.

STEP 4. We put new and fresh salt and baking soda (five pounds of each and two tablespoons of cinnamon) into and around the chicken.

STEP 5.We put the chicken in a safe place until Thursday when we mummify them again.

Group Reflection From Today’s Mummification:

Using the senses of sight, touch and smell, describe your chicken

Sight: A rock that just so happened to be in the shape of a chicken

Touch: Hard as a rock, also kind of stale and feels scaly kind of like a dried out dead fish because the chicken is basically dried out because of the mummification process.

Smell: Dogs that were laying in the mud with a hint of cinnamon and An Exhibit at the Zoo.

How do you think the chicken will change between now and Thursday?

We think that it will change color some more and maybe become yellow!
