Sukkah Purchasing Day

1. Describe a situation when you collaborated well with your group yesterday (make sure to set the scene: what were you doing, what happened, how did you feel). We worked well when we were loading the boards onto the bus because we were all doing something that helped the group.

2. Provide a specific example of a time when you did not collaborate well with your group yesterday (make sure to set the scene: what were you doing, what happened, how did you feel). When we were buying the materials because one of us was doodling one was clueless and one was confused on what to buy.

3. For your specific example of your struggles, how would you change your behavior/actions next time so as to do better. Be specific on what you would do.I would like to be more involved and be sure on what we’re are buying. Meaning that I would like to be notified in what we’re are doing and help in the calculations.

4. Explain how well you planned (what you need to buy and how much) and executed that plan (actually did what you said you were going to do). We planned well because we were organized. We calculated the right number of boards but we did not execute well. We did not execute well because we were all over the place. We did not know what was going on and were confused about a lot of things like how many screws and nails we needed.

This is me getting all the nails and putting them on a cart.

That is me lifting a 2x4x16

7th One Pager Summer Reading Assessment

A learning goal that I thought I did well was managing my time. One I did bad at was, noting key ideas.

One choice I made on my project was to draw the three major settings in the book. I made this choice because it shows I understood that this was a major grade so I wanted to make it all the criteria that Gev. P made for all the students.

Another choice was to add questions. I made this choice because I had a lot of questions in the book about the author, the books contents, and the reliability of Ransom Riggs saying all the pictures are real.

The third choice I made was to make big part of my one pager my thoughts. I made this choice because I wanted to express my ideas in my thoughts. I thought that I could not do that enough with only my answers to the questions and my setting, connections and so on. I really wanted to get my thoughts out on the paper and explain the things that needed explaining.

I used color to organize my titles, color, thoughts and questions because I did not want my one pager to look as bland but I didn’t want it to look to bright because that is not what the book Hollow City is about.

I choose the quote “Laughing doesn’t make bad things worse any more than crying makes things better” because I thought this really touched down to earth. I loved the how realistic it is and I think it is great morals to live by because this quote could be true in a lot of cases and in hard times you can rely on a good laugh.

Sukkah Day 3

. On Friday, we worked on our organization of our purchasing plan. We areĀ  organized with our purchasing because we have our spreadsheet filled out.
2. My level of organization has helped our Sukkah project so far. An example of this is when I found the cost of our wood I brought the number of boards by getting the schools wood.

Sukkah Post

1. Yesterday, we started our Sukkah project by seeing the non-negotiable and found the price for a wall. My part in the process was to find the price for the wood but I failed.
2. I am excited about actually building the Sukkah because I think it would be fun.
3. I am a bit worried/not looking forward to purchasing the materials because we might not have enough money.
4. My biggest challenge yesterday was finding the price because there were a lot of variables.
5. Today, I will overcome my challenges by finding the price.
