On Thursday I went to see the mayor for yom haatzmaut. The mayor invited us to come and listen to him speak. We went on coach busses. Their were huge windows, air conditioning I think. There were also things you could pull over the windows to make it dim. The seats were very comfortable. When we got there, we sat down in a huge fancy hallway. When you look up you can see lots of other floors. Then they gave us lunch. It was a sandwich with cheese, tomatoes, and other stuff. Then a few people spoke and then the mayor spoke. He talked about how America was friends with Israel and how Israel is a strong country. After that someone gave us stickers with a number on it. It turns out that they were dividing us into 20 teams. The shin shins gave us challenges like a code and a word search. I didn’t really like my team that much except for one person. They didn’t really take whatever idea I had into consideration until I said it a million times or someone else says it. I think it was because they were all much older than me and thought I’m not as smart. But that’s a random guess. Then we got prizes, got cake and snacks, and went back on the coach busses to go back to school.

How did you feel about the field trip and listening to the Mayor?
That was really good and descriptive! Way to go! The thing that you added in that I didnt add in was that you talked about the luch a lot more than I did which I think is very cool!
I liked how you explained in your own words what the mayor said because I totally forgot to put that in. Also I kind of forgot what the mayor said, so this made me remember it. I feel bad that you were kind of ignored in your group, but maybe the room was too loud for your group to hear you.
