How to help close the hunger gap

1. Explain what the four factors of poverty are and how they impact one’s life. EDUCATION, because without education, you probably won’t get a good job. HOUSE AND FAMILY because if your family is poor, you won’t be able to afford a house. HEALTH, because if your sick, you can do your job, and if you don’t do your job, you won’t get paid, and then you can’t afford your health care. GEOGRAPHY, if you live in a poor area, you’ll get robbed.

2. Explain how the cycle of poverty works. If you are poor, then your kids will probably be poor, and then their kids will be poor etc…

3. How do we help people get healthy food cheaply (make sure your answer is realistic)? Tell them to eat the healthy foods.

What government policy suggestions do you have?

What changes can you/we make to help? Go help at places like St. Ben’s, and when you see poor people, give them food or money, and vote for the right president, and/or maybe protest. and maybe create more shelters, and lower the prices for stuff.

Defend your answer. Because it will make it so the poor people still have food, and maybe won’t be homeless anymore.

  1. Please explain a bit more on question 2. How are all of these items connected? How does it form a cycle?

Telling people to eat healthy food does not give them access, as is your answer for question 3. What policy should we have/what can we do to help people?
