What role did your character play in causing the Civil War? He ended up siding with the South (The people that wanted slavery), because if he freed the slaves, he would become a slave.

Does your character believe that the government should have power to tell states what to do? Yes because he was the president, and if the states had state rights they could leave whenever they wanted to.

Do you like the character you were assigned? Why? I like him because he doesn’t like slavery, though I also don’t like him because he’s kind of selfish because he was worried that he’s become a slave if he freed a bunch of slaves, and most of those slaves, have been slaves for a long time.
