My Jewish Studies Project

For Jewish studies, we made a project about our beliefs in God and we also had to do a writing piece. This is my writing piece and a picture of my project.

My project is an explanation of my idea of God/Judaism. I don’t remember exactly when I came up with my idea but I know that as soon as I did I created a slide and drew my idea of what I wanted to make. My idea is that God is only there as a way to teach us all how to live life. Same with the Torah. All the stories in the Torah may not have happened, but they can still teach us valuable lessons about life.

At the beginning of this unit, I thought that God and Judaism were all a hoax and I didn’t care about any of it. Rambam said, “If only they had forsaken me, but kept my Torah” In other words saying that we should follow the Jewish values in the Torah instead of ignoring them and praying to God.

My project is pretty self-explanatory. I have a big box full of Jewish principles with a funnel leading into it. That funnel represents God. Therefore, God is simply a funnel/way to teach people about Jewish principles.

  1. This looks like a really cool project. I agree with much of what you said, especially about how the stories in the Torah teach us how to live.
