Our Classroom Economy

In Social Studies we are starting our own class economy. Basically, we all get jobs and make money and just have our own little economy.

Today we were randomly given our jobs. The pay for each job could range from 140 to 4,000. My job pays 170 dollars. Yippee. After every class, I have to stack all the chairs. My dream job!

I also have to pay 10 dollars weekly in hopes of doing something with my life and if any chairs are out of place I get fined 20 dollars.

Suffice to say, I am extremely pleased with my job.

What are you most excited/nervous about for our Classroom Economy?

I’m most excited about the massive pay I get for my job. I’m going to be super-rich.

In my mind, poverty is caused by a vicious cycle where the poor get poorer and the rich get richer.

  1. but isn’t there hope that you can apply for and get a better paying job some day?

which is more important to you: a high paying job or a highly enjoyable job?

  2. Hi! My name is Kosei and I live in Malaysia KL. Your blog really stood out for me because I am always concerned about my future and if I’m even going to get a job. I also think poverty affects the poor and the rich. By the way, what do you want to become in the future? Thank you for letting me read your fantastic blog!
