Writers Workshop Reflection

I liked learning new facts about the details of water. I think I did good adding details and facts in my book. I know that because this time I included a glossary, it is only my second time adding a glossary.  I know it is a description book because  I add a lot of facts and features. I also think that each  chapter  is in chronological order because I tell the reader facts in by year. A new skill I learned  is to use more nonfiction text features.

Immigrate

My family came from Russia in 1907 and 1912. They went on a ship called the Columbia and a ship called the Sarawak.  A different I learned is that  they did not come straight to Milwaukee, they went to New York. My mom still has Kiddish cups from Russia.

Time Machine to the March on Washington

I’m a young white worker and student in Washington D.C. Finding a job has been hard. I have seen demonstrations on TV, but have never attended a civil rights demonstration myself.

I feel my character believes that people should  be treated the same. So I would go on the whole march even if I live in Washington D.C.  By going on the March, I believe that I could help change jobs and maybe find a better one.  I could also meet new people who have similar ideas as me and maybe go to school with me.

R. R. N. R.

I have 42 responses. I have a lot of different entries. When I read D. O. A. W. K. I stop and jot,and summaries. I do have more then one entry per book. My responses helps me in a deeper way and  understand the book more. I do summaries well. I need to work on  k-w-l charts and new words and definitions.  I will do that by creating a blank K-W-L chart and leaving it in my notebook.  I will also start a new words list in my binder. My teacher can help me by reminding me to write the date and to write in my notebook.
