Final Scientific Explanation on Sea Lamprey and Trout

The Sea Lamprey have been invading the great lake food chain and the trout, causing their population to decrease. The trout have been continuously lowering ever since the Sea lamprey came to the great lakes attached to those boats according to the article. It’s been going on for about 10 years now.

When we dissected we found millions of razor-sharp teeth. I took one out and examined it with a magnifying glass. The teeth are very sharp, like tiny buzz saws. I almost touched one! Eek! This shows how they can eat any fish without getting killed by anything. The average amount of teeth is 60! Using those razors it can bite through almost anything. The lamprey uses their teeth to chomp into the side of the trout and then eats all of the insides of the fish. This can help them get food for their kin. The lamprey can stay on a trout for hours, sucking the insides of it.

The Lamprey’s eggs are very tiny. However, they have 60 to 100,000 causing reproduction very often.  All of this can show that the lamprey can reproduce and cause to invade even more. Using this information can show you that the more sea lamprey there is the less trout there is. With the amount of Sea lamprey towering over the trout population, the trout is in danger of extinction in the Great Lakes

Sea Lamprey looking at the shape looks like it swims very fast. Using these abilities, the lamprey can swim and chomp
through anything in its way. Using its fin and wiggling its body it can soar through the waters. They are called S-Swimmers. Meanwhile, the trout are different swimmers. The trout use their fins and body to push themselves and gain momentum. They are Half-Body swimmers Other lampreys (Otherwise known as native) do not have a record for invading anything. Sea lamprey needs the most food, therefore, eating the trout. The sea lamprey has no predators allowing it to eat all the other fish. The lamprey is very fast causing them to be faster than the trout. This causes them to be able to chase a trout and always catch it.

The internal parts of the fish were very important to its processes. It had lots of long thin tissue. It was a little hard but we found some intestines, a heart, and other things. The most interesting thing I saw was how small of a stomach it has compared to how big of an appetite it eats! There was a long string of intestines that looked like almost human, intestines. This means that the lamprey is lighter and quicker,

Which would make it able to chase the trout because of their speed.

Testing our Rapunzel challenge

What materials did you choose for your build and why?

Cardboard, metal bowl and model magic. We used these to build the tower the moat and Rapunzel. Using these we were able to create the correct scene of too much rain.

Here is a picture of my plan:

Here is a picture of my first attempt at the building process:

While you test:

What are you noticing?

I noticed that it is working how we planned it to. The plan was simple and easy. I think that we could have done maybe harder?

What things are working?

Everything is working perfectly.

What things are not working?

Nothing is not working it’s all going extremely well

How will you tweak this? Make this better? (Be specific and detailed!)

We will keep the pool idea but we are going to add a working zip line to take her down into the water. we will use a tiny catapult at the beginning to launch her forward into the zip line.

Do you need any new materials? If so, WHY?

We will need a rope and some more cardboard. using these we can create the zip line and the zipline cart.

Sketch your new design with labels on a piece of paper. Make sure your drawing is detailed and specifically labeled.

Insert your sketch here:

Why will this new design work better than your first attempt? What is your evidence?

She will not break her head open because it’s a safe way down.

One Word Goal —> 2019!!!! =)

EXPERT—מומחה

I chose EXPERT because I want to be able to show people my expertise in my skills. EXAMPLES:

-I want to be able to act and sing in a musical well so I can be in good Musicals.

-I want to be able to use my drawings for money. So if I can get good at drawing I can sell them.

-I want to be able to make good polymer clay structures so I can show people my skill and recommend the skill to others.
