Processing World Zionist congress

What was one thing you learned throughout this project?

That if you can’t work hard and that if your group doesn’t click, then you can’t get much done.

How would you explain the answer to what should the future of the jews look like?

I think that Israel should be a thing because right now there are some jews in poverty, and this would help them to build their life back up.

Hanukkah card blog post.

Describe what you were supposed to do

I was supposed to make a Hanukkah card.

Describe your experience as a Scratch programmer. Is it something you are expert in or a novice?

I think I am experienced in most things but I still have things to learn.

Reflect on what was easy and what was challenging

Nothing was really hard, it was just time-consuming to figure out how much time to put in between the backdrops, and other things.

What did you learn in a process?

That it takes time to make something that you like.

Provide a link to your card

https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/268497032/

Add instructions on how to use your card. Assume that the user has never used Scratch before. For example, sometimes you need to click on something for an effect to take place.

To turn the menorah on you click it. To eat sufganiot you click the guy. To Make latkas you click the other guy. In catch the things, if you want a thirty-second timer, click that and the same with the sixty-second timer. Try to catch the sufgania and the latkas but avoid the Christmas trees.

Testing our Rapunzel Creations

What materials did you choose for your build and why?

We chose cardboard for the tower and the pulley, wood for the pulley and the weight for Rapunzel, Foam as the base, and hot glue to hold everything together.

Here is a picture of my plan:

Here is a picture of my first attempt at the building process:

While you test:

What are you noticing?

The string is sometimes getting caught on the side of the pulley.

What things are working?

The pully is working fine and the tower is staying up.

What things are not working?

The string sometimes gets caught in the side of the pulley.

How will you tweak this? Make this better? (Be specific and detailed!)

We may add a parachute to slow her down, and we will put a smaller gap in between the pully and the side of the pulley.

Do you need any new materials? If so, WHY?

yes, we need either wax paper or a bag of very thin plastic.

Sketch your new design with labels on a piece of paper. Make sure your drawing is detailed and specifically labeled.

Insert your sketch here:

Why will this new design work better than your first attempt? What is your evidence?

Yes, I think so because the parachute will help slow Repunzul down, and closing the gap in between the wood and cardboard in the pulley will stop the rope from falling off.

Building Reflection

What about the building process was challenging?

We had to make a smaller version of the pully because it weighed too much.

How did your build differ from your plan? (If your build was different than your plan, update your plan!)

We made Repunzul out of model magic.

How did your group work well together during the build? What would you do again?

We all had different jobs to get things done quicker.

How did your group struggle during the build? What would you change?

We didn’t have enough time so we kind of rushed and it didn’t turn out how well it could have.

Explorers Reflection

What about this project went well for you? Explain.

Making the presentation was not that hard, because all I had to do was put my research into slides, and put it into complete sentences.

What about this project did not go well for you? Explain.

The research was really hard. I would always reach dead ends and couldn’t find all of the information that I needed.

How can you create a better project next time?

I think If I did something other than slides it would have been better, or I could’ve practiced it more

How did you think the planning process went? Were you able to find all the information you needed?

Yes I think I got enough.

What could Adon Kaufman and Gev. Noorlander do differently next time?

I think this should have been a choice to be a group project.

What impact did explorers make?

If nobody explored than Basically everyone would have lived in wherever the first human lived, because there would be no point in exploring.

Dissection Reflection

What is the value of dissecting?

So we know whats inside what were dissecting and to learn more about biology.

How did the dissection help you understand what is happening between the sea lamprey and the trout?

I know know that the sea lamprey sucks blood out of the trout and then eat it.

How did you feel about dissection? If you enjoyed the process, why did you enjoy it? If you did not enjoy it, what was difficult about it?

I liked dissecting the perch more that the lamprey because it wasn’t as gross and it wasn’t squishy.

Rapunzel Planning Reflection

How did spending more time on planning, improve your final blueprint?

We changed little things like instead of a pebble we are going to have another 3D printed person but it is a dummy.

How did your group come to one final plan after brainstorming several ideas?

We voted on which idea we liked the most, and we came to the conclusion that we do a pully.

Why do you think taking more time to plan was important?

Because if we didn’t we could miss some things that might be important, like how is a pebble going to weigh the same weight as something 3D printed.

Did brainstorming with multiple people help you come up with more ideas? How?

Yes, it did because they came up with more ideas than I would alone.

What would you differently during the planning process next time?

I would take more time to think of ideas so I can generate more ideas.
