My new goal word for 2018 is “words”. I chose that word because sometimes instead of  using my words when I’m mad , I get frustrated and cry. This year I’m going to try to not do that. I’m going to learn a lot this year!

An old friend is moving to Savannah,Georgia.We will miss him.He is moving on December 18th,2017.We made cards for him that say “good bye”.There was also a picture of us and on the back there was a note.He is still a part of our school family.

We read a few pages of a new magazine called “Super”.The pages we read were called “Super Shorts”.The first one was called “Stack a Snack”.It’s about square watermelons.The next one is called “Are You My Mother?”.It’s about hedgehogs who think a brush is their mother. The third one is called “Fur +Feathers =Friendship”.It’s about a monkey and a bird becoming friends.The other one is called “Big Mean Frog”.It’s about a big frog that ate animals at the time of the dinosaurs.The last one is called “I Scream,You Scream,We All Scream For Ice Cream!”.It’s about gross sounding ice cream.We have a packet that go’s with it.We have to work in it.

When I go to Louisville me and my family go to my Gima and Dada’s house,they invite lots of my cousins and aunts and uncles their Thanksgiving party.We all sit down for a yummy dinner.This year at school since I’m in second grade,we did a Thanksgiving play! I was Mary Brewster,one of the Pilgrims.This year Thanksgiving was fun!

I made a new book. It’s called “Thanksgiving In Louisville”. Every year I go to Louisville for Thanksgiving so I wrote about it. I wrote about it because it is special to me. I stay at my Gima (Grandma) and Dada (Grandpa)’s house. They are my Dad’s Mom and Dad. My Dad’s Dad’s Mom comes to their Thanksgiving party. Most of my Dad’s side of the family comes to their house because they live in town. My favorite first cousin comes , too. I love going to Louisville for Thanksgiving.

I learned a lot in math. We had to solve a lot of  two step word problems. Problems with too much,too little,and missing information we had to solve,too. We also had to solve equation chains,like 6+4=5+5=7+3=8+2=10,3 and 4 addends,like 6+2+8=16 or 7+2+8+3=20,greater and less than signs,comparison bars, math mountains,and word problems. My favorite out of those is comparison bars.

It was fun at Lifestrider Ranch! Lifesrtider  is in Waukesha. Our trail guide was Amber. Their oldest horse is Scout. Their youngest pony is Destiny. Their biggest horse is Gabby. The horses help people with disabilities like blind people and people who can not talk or walk. The horses eat carrots,peppermints,apples,cereal,and horse treats When you are 8 you can be a volunteer. A volunteer is a person who does barn duty. There are 21 horses. They are all different kinds. We are collecting cereal,peppermints,carrots,apples,horse treats,and fly spray. I liked going to Lifestrider Ranch!
