JSL Reflection

  • What did you learn about leadership from the Jewish Supreme Leader (JSL) election project?

That leadership comes in many forms

  • Through the stories of the leaders we studied, what are some positive ideas the Torah teaches us about leadership?

Even when people might be bad if you look inside them they might have good inside them

  • What are some negative ideas the Torah teaches us about leadership?

I don’t really know if there is, everything has a reason.

  • If you could create the ideal JSL, what would that person be like: their qualities, their personal story, their weaknesses? Why?

They would be nice caring and they would have a bad childhood and use it to their advantage.

  • How do you think leadership has changed from Torah times to modern times?  How is it still similar?

People are more stupid now and blow a lot of money on bad things

  • How does the JSL election change the way you think about leadership?  Why?

It showed me that there is a little good in everybody if you can find it

Og’s Great Adventure Reflection

  • What did you notice or observe during the challenge?

I noticed that the 9 letter word was very hard.

  • What kind of questions did you ask yourself (meta)?

I asked myself if there were any hidden links or codes on the page.

When did you first begin drawing connections between the different puzzles and pictures?

I first begin drawing connections between the different puzzles and pictures almost right away. My dad works at an escape room so I am pretty familiar with hidden stuff and clues.

  • What were those connections?

The connections were when we figured out the puzzle and then Max said that the number of spikes might be the number code. That was very smart.

  • What were your biggest clues?

My biggest clue was when in the maze we saw the directions the correct path was. That was the directional lock’s code.

  • What was the most challenging?

The 9 letter word.

  • What was your biggest ah-ha moment? Why?

The biggest ah-ha moment was when in

the maze we saw the directions the correct path was. That was the directional lock’s code.

Reflecting on Clue

What thinking moves did you use when playing this game (questioning, connecting, listening, observing, deducing, reasoning, etc?

If nobody had a guess, I knew that that would be the answer. I also had a lot of prior knowledge of playing games.

How did organizing your information impact your experience playing the game?

I could look at my info and know what I was looking at.

Where else do you use these thinking skills (at school, at home, on sports teams, etc)?

I use them at my house when playing a board game with dad.

When might you need this kind of thinking?

When you play a board game or if you are in an escape room. Most importantly, in a business.

Sincerely,

msteigmann

Energy-Efficient House

In science me and a partner are building an Energy Efficient house. We get most of our energy from solar panels and mini wind turbines. To keep our house well insulated we have blue jean and wood to keep the heat in the house. We also have electric cars and a lot of trees for shade. Ours windows face the south do get as much sun as possible bu our windows are thick so the heat does not escape. Also our lights turn off when nobody is in the room to preserve energy. Our lights are LED lights since those lights last the longest.

Causes of Slavery

What were 3 causes for slavery? (this answer can be bullet points)

  • A lot of land that needed work to be done on
  • Some tribes had rivalries with the english
  • When slaves had children they were also slaves

What did white slave owners use their slaves for? Why?

They used their slaves to do work. For example, some owners used them to farm. The reason they did this because it was considered “cool” to have slaves.

What crops did slaves harvest? Why these crops?

A lot of slaves harvested tobacco and cotton because those were very popular crops in the south back then. Also most slaves were in the south.

Where were most slaves from? Why?

Most of the slaves were from  Africa because the africans did not have a lot of things to defend themself with. Also England split up Africa so there was a lot of trading slaves for money and other valuable objects.

Why did so many slaves move to the colonies? Was this their choice? Explain.

The slaves moved here because their owners forced them to move here. And no, it was not their choice.

Why were there so many slaves in the colonies?

As I said before a lot of owners from England brought their slaves.

Sincerely,
