Technology is obviously a very regular part of education these days. Kids are pretty familiar with iPads, and this year they are starting to use Chromebooks and desktop computers at school too. Yesterday we went to the computer lab for the first time. They learned their individual school logins and passwords that they will use throughout their time at MJDS. There are a lot of computer skills that we will be working on this year, such as using a mouse, double clicking, what certain keyboard keys are used for, basic typing, etc. If you have a desktop and/or laptop at home, please help reinforce these skills so that your children can become more familiar with how to use these devices.
I feel like this is a new rite of passage – FIRST TIME IN THE COMPUTER LAB! I love it!
I just want to take a moment and remember the Apple IIe’s of my own childhood.
