6th One-Pager Summer Reflection

  1. Explain the five choices you made on your one-pager and how they show your comprehension of the book or what you learned from the book. One choice I made was to put a lot of quotes an example of one is “humans can surprise you. Another choice I made was to add pictures of all the main characters. One of my choices was to use quotes to represent the beginning, middle, and end. I also used symbolism by adding footprints all over my one-pager which showed that he loved to paint because his feet were covered in it. For my last choice, I used words to show setting which was when Ivan realized that he wasn’t living in a domain, it was a cage.

      2. Explain two pieces of textual evidence from your map, and why you choose that text for your one-pager.

My first piece of textual evidence is that I put pictures of all the main characters from the book. My second choice was to add a lot of quotes to really show every change the characters made throughout the book.

How I Would I Improve my Solar Oven

If I had the opportunity to improve my solar oven I would do the following.

I would first add more tinfoil, I would add more tinfoil so the box could get more sunlight. Which would heat the food faster

Then, I would make the plate for the food better, so it could always get sunlight.

Last, I would make sure that the installation is neater. This would make sure that the plate could fit in and so that the food inside could be seen.

Tech Tefilah Reflection

The story Max and I chose to work on was the Ten Commandments. We chose this story because it is both of our favorite stories. We taught that every story is different. I want people to learn that it doesn’t take to much to teach something. I think we were really good at projecting and saying all the words right. I think we could have better recording skills. I want to know why did God choose Mt. Sinai.

Exodus Experience Reflection

I think the whole thing went well during the experience but we missed a few parts here and there but either than that it was good. I think that some parts didn’t go well like when we skipped some plagues and a few lines. If I were to change it I would have things more spread out. Something that surprised me is that everyone enjoyed it and didn’t think it was all fake. I learned that it doesn’t take a lot of people to pull something off.

Timeline Refection

How did the events we looked at today lead to the cause of the Civil War?

they all had to do with slavery which was the main cause of the war.

How did this activity show us the lead up to the Civil War?

We had to find the timeline without talking which was harder than normal but it showed all the events and a little more detail about them.

What did you find most valuable about this activity?

I thought that the most valuable thing was researching the events and writing them down

Why is it important to learn about the events that lead to the Civil War?

It is important because we need to know the events to understand the whole Civil War

Why do you think your event lead to the Civil War?

Yes because Abraham Lincoln didn’t like slavery and he was elected president that lead up to the Civil War.

  • What other person/people does your character believe is most at fault for causing the war?

He thinks that the south is at fault because they wanted slaves and he was one so that is how the war started.

CER: Air has Mass

Air has mass. I know air has mass because when we weighed a balloon without air it weighed 2 grams, but when we weighed the balloon with air it weighed 2.7 grams this shows that the weight changed. We also can feel the air, when it is windy out you can feel the wind which is air. When I felt the balloon without air it felt rubbery and was able to stretch, When I felt the balloon with air it was more firm and couldn’t really stretch. Also, when you bounce a balloon it goes up than down which means it was affected by gravity and it kinda floated a little bit and after it dropped. This proves that air has mass because it weighed more which meant there was a substance inside that had a weight which meant it would have to have mass. Also when we blew air into the balloon and it expanded so that showed that the air had mass because it made the balloon and different shape. This proves why air has mass.

What Top 3 strategies/tips would you suggest to others when playing a timed game?

1. don’t get off task it won’t help your group
