Today’s essential question: What makes a team work?

Everyone’s help

Why is it important to develop the capacity to work as a member of a team?

It gives you more people, therefore, more and better work.

What areas of teamwork do you find easiest and why?

Talking with my groupmates

What areas of teamwork do you find most challenging and why?

Working with multiple people

What difference does it make if you are able to play a role in the development of assessment tools?

In what way(s) do you connect this work to our Core Values: Wonder, Empathy & Tikkun Olam

I have brainstormed: Spring-Up Boots™

What is the problem you identified?

WARNING the following information is a fake Ad: Are you tired of being too short to get something off the counter? Well you got lucky because we just released the all new Spring-Up Boots! Just slip them on and voila! You can jump high enough to reach your apple that your mom made! Disclaimer: Spring-Up Boots are not for elders the common cause of Spring-Up Boots are falling on the ground, getting an injury or jumping too high…  So come on down and get your all new Spring-Up Boots! Batteries not included.

I TOLD YOU IT WAS FAKE

What is the solution to your problem?  Please include a labeled sketch.

The Springs on the boots make you able to jump high and act as stilts for you to reach higher places!

Where did I look to see if the idea was new?

Google images

What materials do I need?

Boots springs and some sort of metal

What is my plan?

My plan is to attach springs to boots and then put a metal or wood platform under it. Hopefully it will work.

What help do I need from others?

I need help from my mom or makerspace for the right materials.

Is your Project finished?

Yes

How many transfers do you have?

We have absolutely no clue we will check that very soon!

Have you tested everything? Does it work well?

Yes we have tested everything we know that it works + it works well! Very well!

Are there any kinks to work out?

Right now we have to work on putting up decorations to make our Rube Goldberg look better!

Have you double checked your rubric to make sure you have met all the requirements?

No but we should probably do that.

What artistic/decorative elements could you add to make your machine more visually appealing?

Right now we added the 10 plagues, the sea splitting and soon enough, some matzo!

I think that our plan from the beginning did not come through at all (Except for the fan)! But now we have even better ideas and I’m almost 100% positive we will make this Rube Goldberg happen!!!!!!!!!! DETERMINATION

ETC Animal Challenge –Using 25 legos, create an animal.

What went well today?

I went well with ideas

What was challenging?

finding the right materials

Was there anything you would do differently if given this task again?

maybe make one big one instead of a bunch of little ones.

How did group roles help your team?

It helped by being able to get it done in time and making sure were not loud.

After this experience, are there any changes you would make to group roles?

I think that maybe different people could be different things each time
