Welcome to Adon Brugmans Team

I am so excited about my new role this school year.  I am wearing many different hats this school year.  I will be teaching upper school physical education, continuing my role as athletic director, and helping upper school students as a student coach.  I will be using this blog as another avenue to communicate with families and students about what is going on in my classes and with MJDS athletics.  There are three links to other pages on the top of my home page.  The My PE class link will contain important dates/reminders concerning PE class, tutorials about sports we are learning about in class, links to healthy living tips, links to family exercises, and a list of healthy snacks.  The MJDS athletics link will contain links to the sports offered at MJDS with a calendar for each sport that will have important dates and schedules.  The Resources for the Mind link will contain study tips, links to websites that exercise the mind, and other important information that will help students and families with academics.  I look forward to working with families and students this school year to help make their experience at MJDS the best and most successful it can be.

  1. 1. Before we started basketball what were one to two skills or things you wanted to work on, improve on, or learn by the end of the unit? (Be specific)
I wanted to improve on dribbling with my left hand, and consistently making good shots. Both of these things were challenging for me, and I was hoping to improve on them by the end of the basketball unit.

Looking at your answer to question number one, do you feel like you learned something new or improved on a skill? If your answer is yes, why do you think you learned something new or improved? If your answer is no, why do you think you did not learn something new or improve?
I feel like I achieved this goal. Running drills helped me improve my dribbling while scrimmaging helped me become a better shooter. I really enjoyed the basketball unit!
