Sukkah Day 9

1. Describe what skill (s) you have learned so far. Who taught you those skills? How did they teach you those skills? How have you mastered those skills? I learned how to start building a wall. My groupmates taught me how to start building a wall. They taught me how to build by telling me what to do step by step and if I needed help they would answer any questions I had.

2. Explain if you believe your group is ahead or behind other groups. Explain why you believe you are at that point.        We are definitely behind other groups because we are not the at communication and teamwork but at some points during building time we work very well together but it just really depends on how our mood is going to be for that day.

3. How effectively did your group communicate and collaborate with each other? Provide one SPECIFIC example to support your point. Our group doesn’t work the best together but sometio=mes we have really good moments where we fly through working but most days we don’t work very well together.

4. Today is a complete reset from last week. What is one goal YOU have for yourself? Explain why you picked that goal. I have a goal to try to work well with my group and to not fight as much as we did last week or better yet not to fight at all I picked this goal because I feel like the fighting is what slows us down.

5. What is one goal you have for YOUR team? Explain why you picked that goal. The goal I have for our group is to get along and work fast and to work very well together.

Sukkah Day 8 – Problem Solving

1. What are the five steps to solving a problem (please list the steps)?
1) Define the problem 2) Stay calm and remind yourself that you can work it out. Use calming strategies if you need them.                           3) Think of at least three ways to solve the problem. 4) Discuss the solutions with a friend and agree on one. 5) If the solution works, you are done. If not, try another Idea.

2. Your group identified a problem you were experiencing. What was the problem? What were your solutions?  My group had two problems 1) Not everyone has something to do and 2) We don’t all get along. Our solutions to the first problem ask if someone needs help, ask a group member for advice on what to do, and look around and see what needs to be done. Our solutions for number two is Take breaks, don’t raise your voice and compromise.

3. Describe how it felt working with your group after you identified your problem and came up with solutions.

I felt almost the same but it did end up being a little better once we finished.

Sukkah Wall Construction (Day 6)

1. You spent time reflecting on past blog posts (looking at your strengths and weaknesses).
Describe the value, using a specific example from your blog post, of looking back and reflecting on our work. When I was reflecting on my past blog posts it had value because I got to look back on my weaknesses and see where I am with those same weaknesses with my current blogs.

2. We started to build our walls. What would you have done differently during the process and WHY? Explain what you did and how your fix would have made it better. I wouldn’t have done anything else different because it all was going pretty well but the only thing I would change is that not everyone is involved 24/7 in my group.

Today I was building in the innovation hub with my group and we were working on our wall.

In this picture, I was holding down a part of our groups’ wall so my groupmate could hammer in the carriage bolt.

Day 5 Sukkah Organization

1. Describe the restorative circle process (when we wrote on our note cards and shared). Include: how you felt writing your notecard, how you felt sharing your notecard, how you felt if/when someone shared a notecard with you. It felt very weird to be writing down my apology for someone down on a piece of paper and then reading it to that person. It felt even weirder to have someone else read their apology to you.

2. Describe how much easier/harder it was to bring the wood in when we were all working together. Include: how did it feel to work together, how were you communicating, how quickly things got done when we worked together It was so hard to bring in the wood from the Ideation room to the innovation room. I felt good how well we were communicating with each other. Things could have gone smoother and quicker but I think it all went fine.

Sukkah Purchasing Day

1. Describe a situation when you collaborated well with your group yesterday. (make sure to set the scene: what were you doing, what happened, how did you feel).  I collaborated well with my group when we were at restore we made good decisions while we were there.

2. Provide a specific example of a time when you did not collaborate well with your group yesterday (make sure to set the scene: what were you doing, what happened, how did you feel). We didn’t collaborate as well at Lowes because we were always yelling at each other because we were all so stressed.

3. For the specific example of your struggles, how would you change your behavior/actions next time so as to do better? Be specific about what you would do. My one real struggle was just at Lowes when we were getting the wood.

4. Explain how well you planned (what you need to buy and how much) and executed that plan (actually did what you said you were going to do). We planned pretty well but not as well as we could have.

Sukah day 1

1. Yesterday, we started our Sukkah project by getting into groups and picking our assignment for extra stuff and we drew out our studs out on our paper. My part in the process was that I helped figure out how many studs we needed.
2. I am excited about figuring out what my group is going to do with our decoration assignments because I love decorating things.
3. I am a bit worried/not looking forward to going to the store because I think I might get lost.
4. My biggest challenge yesterday was figuring out the number of studs because I’m not very good with math.
5. Today, I will overcome my challenges by trying my best and trying my hardest.

Sukkah Day 3

1. On Friday, we worked on the organization of our purchasing plan. We are sort of organized with our purchasing because we are almost done finished getting all of our wood numbers and how much it will cost.
2. My level of organization has helped our Sukkah project so far. An example of this is that one of my partners and I went around our school and got a bunch of stuff that we needed or wanted for decorations.

Sukkah Day 2

1. Yesterday, we worked on our Sukkah project by collecting pieces of wood for our studs and we also collected plastic water bottles. We were assigned water bottles for a part of the decoration process. My part in the process was collecting water bottles. We calculated that we needed 9 studs but we were way off we needed about 21.
2. One thing I learned because of this Sukkah project was how to build a wall. I learned what kind of wood you need to build a wall and what kind of nails and how many pieces of wood you need in specific places.
