Book Club #1

1. One new idea from book club is a trait for Luke that one of my partners thought of which is curios.

2. The most interesting part of my book so far is when the government came to looks house and I thought that they were coming for him (Even though I was wrong), because that put me in suspense.

3. In discussion next time I can grow as a collaborator by learning more about the book that I’m doing which will give me more idea’s for traits, themes, etc.

Causes Of Slavery

What were 3 causes for slavery? (this answer can be bullet points)

  1. Ancestry.
  2. Trades.
  3. Wars.

What did white slave owners use their slaves for? Why? White owners used their slaves for doing their labor. They also used their slaves for money by selling them.

What crops did slaves harvest? They harvested cotton, hemp, rice, tobacco, or sugar cane.

Where were most slaves from? Why? Most slaves came from Africa, because that’s where most of them were traded, or where they were born.

Why did so many slaves move to the colonies? Was this their choice? Explain. Sometimes it was their choice, because they wanted to escape slavery. Though sometimes they were forced because their master made a trade.

Why were there so many slaves in the colonies? Because most slaves either moved to the colonies or were born in the colonies or got traded to the colonies.
