I am actually really surprised! I thought that this bread would be at least a little moldy by the end of winter break! Turns out nothing happened! It might even still be edible! I think that we may have put too little water on the bread for day one. Or maybe it’s too much water? Who knows? I think that maybe in one more week our bread may get a little moldy.

QUESTIONS

Once the mold began to grow, how did the appearance of the mold change over time?

The appearance didn’t really do anything the bread is still white and isn’t even a little darker.

Hopefully, when \we buy foods at a grocery store they are not moldy. What do you think food manufacturers do to foods to prevent the growth of mold?  (Hint! Using your Alan November research skills, try googling this answer. Be sure to include your source when you answer this on your blog.)

I think that they use some sort of liquid material on them then wait for them to dry then bag them then put them on the shelves.

Many fungi are decomposers. What does this mean? (Hint! Think back to our discussions and research before break)

I think it means that the fungi Decompose to start making more fungi

Make a list of useful things fungi can do. (Hint! Think back to our discussions and research before break)

FUN FACTS ABOUT FUNGI USES:

1. Fungi are used in certain foods with dairy, like cheese!

2. Fungi is used in many medicines

3. Fungi are used to decompose and break down.
