Egyptian G-D’s

What is the largest difference between Ancient Egyptian religious beliefs and our beliefs as Jews?

They have like more than 100 gods. and we have one.

Which G-D did you find most fascinating?

Osiris because he is the ruler of the underworld but his son is a ruler of the sky.

What is one thing you are wondering about Ancient Egyptian religion?

Why did they have so many gods?

One Word Goal Update

My One Word Goal: Change

One thing I can do this week to help me stick to my goal: keep my cool when I have a sub

One thing my teachers can do this week to help me stick to my goal: when there’s a sub maybe don’t put the whole class’s attention to me (like that one time in fourth grade)

One thing my friends can do this week to help me stick to my goal: keep acting the same.

One thing my family at home can do this week to help me stick to my goal: maybe not to move houses or to another country.

MPM Reflection

Which exhibit do you think you’ll highlight in your poem? Why

The exhibit that has the T-rex eating a triceratops because it has so many details in it, like the blood, the organs etc.

Why do you think learning coding is important to your future?

Because so many jobs use coding! you could code for a hospital or a restaurant there are so many possibilities for computer coding. like for a hospital you would be able to code the computer system or the website for the hospital.   link to the article

What was something that made you “wonder”

How many types of codes are there and how many uses does each have?

Where was a connection you made between the article and your initial thoughts from Task 2? If so, what?

The connection was that so many jobs in America use computer coding. and that’s insane!

Quote from the article: “Apart from companies in the technology sector, there is an increasing number of businesses relying on computer code.”

What more would you like to learn about coding? Or, what more would you like to do with coding? Are you interested in creating anything specific?

I want to learn javascript and not just stick with block coding.

Group Roles (choose a different role than last time)

Materials Manager/Clean Captain: hboland20

Chat Captain/Timekeeper: akaswan21

Picture Taker: akaswan21

Procedure Police/Reflector: hboland20

List the EXACT procedure your group followed today. Be as specific as possible.

  1. First we laid down the newspaper evenly among the table. (well not so evenly but enough to cover the table)
  2. Then we grabbed the chicken and put it on our table. When we saw the chicken we thought the chicken was really dry because the powder on the outside of the chicken looked like outside our window (white and powdry )
  3. Then we banged the chicken against the aluminum pan and the moment the powder came out the powder was automatically yellow… IT LOOKED LIKE THE SUN OR YELLOW SAND
  4. Then we realized that there was an area that may have had really old powder because it was soooo wet. Then we started taking out the rest of the powder
  5. Then we created the new mixture 1 ½ pounds of baking soda and 1 ½ pounds of salt. The spices were ginger A LOT OF GINGER, thyme, rubbed sage and ground nutmeg.
  6. Then we covered the chicken (extra powder in the area that has moisture) in the inside, under and a tiny bit on the wings because the spine is dry
  7. Then we put the chicken away

Photos (insert them into this doc)—> must include at least 5 photos.

Group Reflection (Discuss and answer these questions as a group)

Using the senses of sight, touch and smell, describe your chicken..How has the size changed? Color? Feel? BE AS SPECIFIC AS POSSIBLE!!

Sight: the top of the chicken looked like mount everest but instead of white snow its red blood.

Touch: really boney like a chicken that got starved to death.

Smell: it smells like the worse garbage can you have ever smelled and double it. Or like a dead body right before it is going to decompose.

Index Card Challenge

Initial Experience

at the beginning of the year, we did this and it was actually pretty fun!

Chat captain/timekeeper: AK

Documenter: SG

Materials manager: ES

PLANNING

we’ll bend the edges of the index card so it can stand on the desk.we’ll tape the cards and fold them the same way.

BUILDING

We folded the cards and made a large stack. Then we made incomplete triangles and put them on top of one big one. At the last 2 minutes, we started fooling around because we didn’t know what we were doing. We didn’t do very well.

2nd attempt

it was 15 1/2 inches

we put a long strip of paper on the top and that made it like 5 inches taller.

I would not waste our tape so much next time. the group roles did absolutely nothing. except for the documenter, he did a great job.

bloxels

Prior knowledge

last year when I was in fourth grade I played with it sometimes in recces. but I was never

really good at it. I just knew the basics.

PLANING

you are the deer and you are running away from the humans and they are trying to kill you.

the end of this is coming 1/17/18

Graph questions

*Explain the trend of increases and/or decreases for both the rabbit and wolf populations between the years 1930-1950in

the years that the population of Rabbits is higher that means that more Rabbits are escaping from predators which means that the wolfs have less to eat which mean they die

*Look at the years 1987 and 1993. Explain your thinking as to why there is such a large difference in population numbers between those five years.

the rabbits are escaping from the wolfs.

*Analyze the population changes between 2000-2005.

in one year there are more rabbits than wolfs but in another year there are more wolfs than rabbits.
