HI

  • What did you like about the Hanukkah activity with kindergarten?

I liked that we got to be in charge.

  • What would you do differently if we did it again?

I would let the kindergarten write the questions.

  • How did you feel as a leader during the activity?

I felt good because I have led other people before

  • How would you lead your group the same if we did this activity again?  How would you lead differently?

I would let my partner do the pictures and every won do the writing

  • What do you think the kindergarteners learned from this activity?

I think they learned how to work with older kids

GOALS

Goals for math: In math I am going to work on explaining my problem that I do. I need to work on math talk. Math talk is being able to explain our thinking  and how we solved a problem.😈😉

Goals for writing:  I am working on coming up with ideas for my topic and using different  words like and, also, then, next, after, that, after that, to, finally. 😈😉

Goals for reading:  I am working on stopping and jotting to do that I will need to use my [R.R.N] or readers response notebook to keep track of my work and to show my work.   I want to keep track of predictions about what I am reading and connections that I have.
😈😉

Goals for social studies:  I am going to work on listening and participating during class.  If we get a choice of projects, I want to try something I haven’t done before.  😈😉

art museum

Yesterday my class went to the art museum .  Our class studied  portraits, self portraits ,  sculptures, and paintings.   I learned that if some was wealthy they would wear the color purple.  In one picture, the girl was wearing coral bracelets and a necklace which helps keep you healthy. Our tour ended early and we got to walk around.  I saw this sculpture made out of buttons that was really cool.  From far away it looked like the inside of a cave.

Reading goal

My reading goal is to stop and jot more connections.  I know when I reached my goal because I will have 7 connections.  I will need a good book to stop and jot about.  I think my goal is reachable because I have 2 connections and I need 7 connections.  I think I can reach my goal in 1 week.

One connection I was able to make to Point-Blank Paintball is that I have seen a paint ball gun before.  Because I have seen a paint ball gun I could better visualize what was happening in the book.

RDC

Yesterday 3rd and 4th used team building to make 4 complete puzzles.  Also  Skass called a board meting and somebody from the group got 3 pieces. They then traded them.   Our team switched off who went to trade pieces.  On my team we got too competitive and we yelled and grabbed pieces from each other.  I learned that being competitive isn’t the most important thing.  It’s important to have fun, show empathy for others and work together.  At the end, we got to play laser tag.  When a friend got hurt I showed empathy and helped him get up.  I feel that by playing the puzzle game, I was able to show more empathy in laser tag.

Road Trip

My math project is planing a  vacation. My group is planing to go to Detroit and we don’t know were else we are going.

We are driving a 2018 Toyota Camry and it is  284.1 to 382.4 miles to get to Detroit . It will take 5 hours 55 minutes to 6 hours 23 minutes.  In Detroit I would like to learn about cars.

We do every thing together and have a discussion .

READERS WORKSHOP GOAL!

My  goal  is  to  stop  and  jot  connections to what I am reading.  I  will  try  to stop  and  jot my connections at the end of Reader’s Workshop.  I think  I  can  get  to  7  connections in the next week. I think I can do this because I have 2  connections already.
