Art Museum

Yesterday my class went to the Milwaukee Art Museum. We went there to look at portraits and self portraits. We looked at the REALLY old ones first and then we went to the newer ones. The oldest portrait that we saw was about 1900 years old! Then we skipped all the way to about 600 years ago. The newest one was about 70 years old.  The oldest portrait was one of a women and they put it on the mummy so people could see who was in there.

Veteran’s Day

Two days ago was the 100th year anniversary for World War I. The sad part was more than  29 million soldiers died or were wounded. While the soldiers fought, a flower called the red poppy was still blooming on the darkest battlefields. The navy has ships, submarines and aircraft carriers. The army shoots and uses guns to fight on land. The marines has lots of people that go in ships ,come out on shore, and have to do lots of swim. Thank you people who served in the army, navy, or military or any other things.

Goal for Hebrew: My goal for Hebrew is participating more. I will do this by raising my hand more and talking more.

Goal for Art: My goal for art is to get better at not talking at the beginning. I will do this by sitting with people that I don’t talk with.

Reading Goal

I have been working on my  reading goal this past week. My goal  is to write three pages of summaries for my book Maniac Magee and so far I have wrote about two pages.  After every independent reading time, I write a summary of what I have read.  I am still working on finishing my goal and writing a lot of words. I hope I can finish in about a week.  I think that writing a summary helps me grow as a reader because I can easily go back and review what I have read.

Rainbow Day Camp

Yesterday 3rd and 4th grade went to RDC. We went there for two reasons, Team exercises, and fun. I learned that team building exercises are actually very easy if one, you work together, and two, you follow directions. One of our activities was we had to make a balloon tower the tallest out of only tape, and of course, balloons. We did not win because we did not work as a team. We still had fun, but we didn’t win. Other teams worked together and actually made a tower. It was hard but I learned a good lesson, always work as a team when you have a choice!  We played lasertag and even picked pumpkins!!! It was very fun and I hope we can go again!

My Math Project

Esattler23, Jodesky23, and I are making a math project that is planning a vacation. First, we had to come up with a car to drive and the mileage. We are still in progress in looking at the gas costs. We are slowly making decisions for our hotels. First, we know that we are driving to Detroit but we don’t know much more of our destinations. In Detroit I would  like to visit car museums and learn about how they were made.  We are driving a Toyota Camry 2018.

Reader’s Workshop Goal

I want to accomplish stopping and jotting the summary of books for 3 whole pages. I’ll know when I reach it when I see 3 pages of writing of book summaries. I will start writing when there is 10 to 15 minutes left in reading. Then I will  stop and jot the summary of what I read. I will give myself three weeks to work towards this goal.

Book Club (Runaway Ralph)

Today I learned in Runaway Ralph that Catso made a hole into the craftshop screen door, which lets the cat get into the shop where the mouse is in his cage. It was a good book so far because it is funny and has a good plot and problem. The questions and answers from my group have been interesting and I learned new ideas from my group members. It has been fun working with my group!

My Last 3rd Grade Blog

I’ve grown as a learner because I learned multiplication and Division. I got through it by not giving up and staying with it.

The best part of 3rd grade was field day because we had a relay race and lots of fun together and cheer for each other.

The most challenging part of 3rd grade was math because in the beginning I didn’t know a lot of Multiplication and Division.

I am excited for 4th grade because we are going to have a lot of fun things and learn more new things.

Our class trip to Madison

This Monday my class and I went to Madison. My two favorite parts there were The Cattle center & The capitol building. In the cattle center we saw a baby calf that was two hours old! In the capitol we saw the conference room, the supreme court, and the senate.
