Stony Hill

We went to Stony Hill. Stony Hill it was the birthplace of Flag Day. A teacher who was 19 years old created Flag Day. I liked learning about the punishments the students got. Hannah from first grade got a punishment. She had to put her nose a circle on the big chalkboard. Jaron had to sit on a seat with a funny hat. I also like learning about the prizes if the students got 250 points. The students got points by doing chores before school and after school. An example of a chore is milking the cows. It was worth 20 points. We played Ante Ante Over. You would throw a ball over the schools roof. If you missed the would say pigs tail. If you got it over you would say Ante Ante Over. If you caught the ball or got it from the ground you could tag the other teams player and get another player on your team.

  1. These are incredible details, Grady! What an interesting, educational, and fun field trip! I wonder if you’re feeling extra gratitude for MJDS, now that you’ve learned about what school was like so many years ago!
