I did not read the book or see the movie so I did not know what was going to happen. In the play, Matilda’s parents were mean to her. They ripped up her books and told her she was a boy. In the end she goes to live with her teacher. Even when things were bad she tried her hardest. There was a part with the mafia that I didn’t understand.
