Where did your family immigrate from?

My family immigrated from Russia and so did my friend Yonaton

What year did they immigrate?

My family came to Milwaukee in 1914.

Why did they immigrate? How did they get here?

They came threw Ellis island and the reason they came her is because my papas grandfather had a chance to work in the clothing business.

Are there any kind of traditions they brought?

The tradition they brought was always eating dinner as a family at the table.

What other interesting stories or facts did you learn?

I learned that everyone in my family had a bar mitzvah.    

I am still working on accomplishing my one word goal, sportsmanship. I start to say something but I stop myself. It is going well but I need to keep working. Math is very comfortable right now for me. Typing is getting harder in writing and I feel like I have something to add but I don`t now what it is. In Social Studies it is getting hard because we have to take more notes and soon we will be doing really hard stuff.

I chose sportsmanship because sometimes in foursquare I become a little too competitive and say stuff that I should not. I need to work on being a team player and go with the plan. I will accomplish it by sticking to the plan and not complain when I get out.

Yo people, We are learning multi digit addition. Our teacher makes us do place value drawing which helps us solve the problem. It is fun and in my opinion it is really easy. It is not fun doing place value drawing though. It is  little hard because we are doing big numbers.   

I read Jake Drake, Know It All. I loved the book. My project was a puppet show and it went really well. The puppet was a big hit. Next time I would do a board game. I liked working with my group

We went to visit with the schools so we can make new friends and learn about the kids at those schools. This time we went to First Stage and acted about Ruby Bridge’s life.We did it with Milwaukee College Prep and Bruce Guadalupe.We do this because we need to connect to other schools and make new friends.Bruce Guadalupe speaks Spanish and English.It is fun meeting new people.The main reason we do this is so we can connect to other schools and meet new people.

What did I learn today: I learned that we had to work together to build a balloon tower. It was hard because we had to blow up the balloons. My group got along because we made a plan. We also got to do laser tag. In a different game, we had to make it from Hawaii  to China and only one person made it across. The main part is that we had to do “me to we.” The puzzle game was hard because we had to get 4 complete puzzles done.

Today we went to the Urban Ecology Center. We did rotations. We got to make homemade paper and a Native American toys . We met new kids and my friend’s was named Jaron. He liked basketball and I also do. I liked it so much!

I have decided my book. It is about when I went to Interlaken . I think it is a good memory and I have a lot more to say.

I am reading Jake Drake. It is fun! In the book so far I learned that Jake Drake’s school is  having a science

fair and the prize  is a really cool computer. I wonder if Jake is going to win? I think book club is fun!
