Questions for W.W/ Writers workshop book

What did you like most about our nonfiction study? The thing that I liked the most about our non fiction study is that it was nonfiction. I like to write nonfiction more than fiction because I like learning new facts that I don’t know and I like growing my brain.

Do you think you did a good job of including detailed information in your final piece? Explain(evidence). Yes because I had a lot of different text features like…

pictures ,

title,

heading,

bold words,

glossary,

and table of contents

What structure did you choose for your piece?

The text structure I used description, because I was telling the readers about different types of birds.

What new writing skills, strategies, or techniques did you learn during this study? I  learned to use glossary’s more because they are useful. They are useful because if there is a word you don’t know you can look at the the glossary and it describes the word that you don’t know .

March On Washington

Today in class we did a role playing activity about the civil rights movement. March was a thing where all different types of people would come and every one would come and walk through different states just because they wanted rights for every one.  People marched because they wanted to be treated the same.

My character is  a young white worker, 23 year old student tin Washington, DC, finding a job has been hard . I  have seen demonstrations on TV, but have never attended a civil rights demonstration my self  self .

would I go on the march yes / no?

I would go on the march because if I have a black friend than I would want to see him or/her sometimes but black and white people can’t be together so I would go on the march because I want the rights for black people and white people to be equal and be treated the same.

One Word Goal

My one word goal is Grow,

  • Grow can mean growing your brain
  • Growing your body
  • learning is growing you brain. How I am going to work towards that is by trying new things, trying new genres when it’s independent reading and trying to do more math packets. I will try to do this by pushing myself to try new things.
