7th Pager Summer Reading Assessment

1. One choice I made on my project was to make an about the author. I made this choice because it shows I understood/learned about the author and about where she came from.

Another choice I made on my project was to put “what makes mutts different than other dogs?”. I made this choice because it shows I understand the difference between the two different types of dogs.

Another choice I made on my project was to have the opening words as a picture. I made this choice because it shows I understood what the opening scene of the book.

2. I used color to add interest so people will notice my one pager because if you spend time on something you want to people to see it.      3. I choose the quote “Mutt” because at the beginning of the book Mr. Rueben was the most important person to him and that is what Mr. Rueben called Mitzvah before the Jewish family adopted him.

4. I did my best on I can manage my time. I found I can make inferences and draw conclusions the hardest.

Book Club 1

1. One new idea from the book club is to make sure that I write down all the people and the places named.
2. The most interesting part of my book is Alex’s family, friends, and interests because of how they are all so different and unique.
3. In discussion next time I can grow as a collaborator by stepping up and stepping down with talking.

Biography Update

Subject of Biography: Dr. Shane Fisher 

Why I chose this subject: I choose Dr Fisher because he cares in a speacical way for the community espesically for a little town in guatemala

Sneak peak of Introduction:

You think that you are going to regular old boring dentist, but no, Dr. Fisher and his dentistry team is much more than that.

Element of biography I want to make sure I include and why: I want to try to put correct punctuation and spellingBecause it is a huge problem when ever I write.

Stanley yelnats steals shoes from a famous basketball player.

What smaller problems happened in the book?

Stanley Getting aressted.

Have you reached the climax of your book? What was the big moment of tension?

No Not yet.

Have you reached the resolution? If yes, is it what you thought would happen? If not, how do you think the problem will be resolved?

No I have not. I think Stanley will get to leave the camp.

Conflict in Fiction Tutorial

The Greaveyard book.

What type of conflict occurred in the story? Describe it using specific details from the text.

The little boy’s parents and sister gets murdered and the boy escaped and was found by gohsts in the graveyard.

How did it move the rest of the story along?

The Boy lived in the graveyard adopted by a vampire and when he was 6 he met a girl and had to have tutor.

Was the conflict resolved? How? If not, how do you think it will be resolved?

No His parents are dead and I think he will just live a normal life living in the graveyard with friends.

    • Which of the 10 exhibits we visited was your favorite? Why? The Butterfly exhibit. Because it was very peaceful and beautiful and it was cool to see them flying over me and seeing their colored wings and body’s. 
    • What is one new thing you learned at the museum yesterday?  I never knew the size difference from a
    • T-rex’s  arms and it’s legs.
