Community event – Screening of ‘Angst’ at St. Robert School

The community is invited on Tuesday, Jan. 23rd at 7:00 pm to St. Robert School’s Reilly Hall for a free screening of the movie Angst: Raising Awareness Around Anxiety.  Anxiety disorders are the most common mental health challenge in the United States, impacting 54% of females and 46% of males, with age seven being the median age of onset, according to the World Health Organization. While anxiety disorders are highly treatable, only one-third of those suffering receive treatment.

Angst is a 56-minute film that explores anxiety, its causes and effects, and what we can do about it. The filmmakers’ goal is to have a global conversation and raise awareness around anxiety. Angst features candid interviews with kids and young adults who suffer, or have suffered, from anxiety and what they’ve learned about it. The film includes discussions with mental health experts about the causes of anxiety and its sociological effects, as well as help, resources and tools.

Clinical psychologist Dr. Michael Mazius will be at the screening to facilitate a question and answer session following the film. Dr. Mazius specializes in the treatment of children and has an active presence in our local schools, providing teacher consultation, workshops and in-services on a variety of mental health and child development topics.

Park in the lot on the east side of our property and enter via the marked REILLY HALL doors adjacent to the playground equipment.
