sukkah day 11 (because i wasn’t here for 10)

1. What did your group accomplish today?
we finally got the frame of our wall done and we measured where each of our studs is going to be placed
2. What do you have left to complete in order for your wall to be finished?
we need to put in our studs in order to be done with the wall.
3. Explain how well your group communicated/participated today. Be sure to include one specific example.

we worked a lot faster and no one screamed or argued today at all. also, everyone was included and we all worked as a group.

here is my group working together to finish up our wall frame.

sukkah day 9

1. Describe what skills (s) you have learned so far. Who taught you those skills? How did they teach you those skills? How have you mastered those skills?
so far I have learned how to build a wall and i learned these skills from my group and the teacher. they taught me these skills by showing me how to do it and letting me try it for myself.
2. Explain if you believe your group is ahead or behind other groups. Explain why you believe you are at that point.
our group is very behind other groups because we never get along very well
3. How effectively did your group communicate and collaborate with each other? Provide one SPECIFIC example to support your point.
we don’t communicate/collaborate very well because we are arguing a lot and one person or two is doing all the work while the other two are just sitting around waiting to do something.
4. Today is a complete reset from last week. What is one goal YOU have for yourself? Explain why you picked that goal.
my goal is to participate more because sometimes im just sitting around
5. What is one goal you have for YOUR team? Explain why you picked that goal.

to find something for everyone to do because like I said before, half of our group is doing nothing for the whole class

here is my group putting in our screws and nails. I’m kinda just sitting in the corner…

sukkah day 8

1. What are the five steps to solving a problem (please list the steps)?
tell the person who is yelling/ not getting along to stop, have them take a small break, ask them why they were doing that, talk it out, discuss a way to fix the problem.

2. Your group identified a problem you were experiencing. What was the problem? What were your solutions?
we were not getting along very well so we came up with these solutions: tell the person to stop, have them take a break, compromise on a solution,
3. Describe how it felt working with your group after you identified your problem and came up with solutions.

it felt a lot easier knowing that we were all gonna get into a huge argument again.

here is me cutting off a dull bolt. it was really tiring!

sukkah day 7

1. Provide a SPECIFIC example of when you or a member of your group struggled to communicate effectively, with empathy, or appropriately. Make sure to include:
a. What led to that situation of miscommunication we all – were kinda silent and did not know what we should do to help
b. How you felt when the miscommunication happened – I just felt normal because I did not think it was that big of a deal
c. How that miscommunication should have been handled instead –  I could have spoken up and asked if there was anything I could do

2. Explain how poor communication let your team down. Make sure to include:
a. What was your team goal – my group does not remember our team goal
b. What did you achieve in comparison to your team goal – my group does not remember our team goal

3. Describe one positive example of communication you witnessed/did yesterday during class. Make sure to include:
a. What was the situation- oren and I were just sitting around while ari was doing the work
b. How did it feel different – I felt kinda bored just sitting there watching
c. What the outcome of that communication was- ari then gave us jobs to do so then we wouldn’t be left out

here is my group drilling holes in so we can hammer in our carriage bolts.

September 17

sukkah day 6

1. You spent time reflecting on past blog posts (looking at your strengths and weaknesses).
Describe the value, using a specific example from your blog post, of looking back and reflecting on our work
it is important to look back and edit your work because it gives you a second opportunity to add more to your post and to make it better. for example, my blog post was not descriptive at all and needed a lot of work. now my blog post looks a lot better.
2. We started to build our walls. What would you have done differently during the process and WHY? Explain what you did and how your fix would have made it better

i would’ve asked to help out a little more because I was kinda just standing there doing nothing. i fixed that problem the next day by volunteering to do a little bit more work.

here is my group setting our wood down to get it stacked, drilled, and screwed in

September 17

hebrew post

I live in a small town called Cedarburg. In Cedarburg, there is a creek, a town, and plenty of parks. sometimes when I have money, I will walk or bike to a candy shop with my siblings and buy them candy. While other times I’ll ride my bike to the park or the library to chill there. but most times I will just stay at home and be a lazy potato.

September 17

egg drop

Answer the following prompts (copy and paste these prompts into your post and bold them):
Describe your prototype design.

How does your prototype protect the egg?

there are soft tissues that act like a cushion so the egg isn’t harmed
Describe your design process, in detail.

first we got a small paper cup and put tissues and the egg inside. next, we wrapped that cup in more tissues and duct tape. lastly, we tied a balloon onto it for fun.
What worked well in your design?

the design was really small and was easy to drop.
What was challenging throughout this process? What would you do differently?

it was challenging to try and make the design smaller because of how much we were wrapping the cup. I would probably not have put so many tissues inside the cup because the egg was really cramped in there.

Sukkah Organization (Day 5)

1. Describe the restorative circle process (when we wrote on our note cards and shared). Include: how you felt writing your notecard, how you felt sharing your notecard, how you felt if/when someone shared a notecard with you
the only two things that I thought of were making someone uncomfortable and upsetting Mr. Kaufman. while I was writing these, I did not feel as bad for making someone uncomfortable because they were fine with it.  though I still felt really embarrassed for worrying the teacher when I gave my notecards / got my notecards, I felt a little relieved that I didn’t mess up crazy and it was the end of the world.
2. Describe how much easier/harder it was to bring the wood in when we were all working together. Include: how did it feel to work together, how were you communicating, how quickly things got done when we worked together

it felt a LOT easier then las time because there was less drama and screaming plus it didn’t take as much time.  it felt good knowing I wasn’t getting yelled at in the face. my group was communicating well, calling dibs what wood we get to take inside. it got done a lot faster because we had a good system going.

here is our group handing off our wood to the organizing group.

September 14

egg drop challenge

1.describe your prototype design

we put an egg inside a small plastic cup then wrapped it in tape and tissues

2. how does your prototype protect your egg?

the soft tissues will break the fall for the egg

3. describe the design process

well we first started with a big cup and wrapped it and it worked. but then we decided to challenge ourselves to make it smaller.
