Writers Workshop: In Writers Workshop everyone is officially done except for me, I am still on my illustrations. But I am having fun anyway. We are also studying personal narratives! I like this unit. Did I forget to tell you that my book is called:

Readers Workshop: In Readers Workshop we are studying poetry. I like this unit, there are also some funny books. Gev. Dowling is also testing us, I am already a level Q!!!

Read-a-thon: I read alto of minutes  two days ago on Tuesday, I read like 90 minutes!! We definitely will beat our goal!!!!

Gym: In gym we have a new unit. IT IS TRACK!!!!!! As you may be able to see I HATE the unit.

Art: In art we are making looms, my loom has so bright colors that when you look at it you feel like your head is going to explode!!!

Collaboration: In collaboration we are studying Egypt. While studying Egypt we made Egyptian paper and wrote a word of our choice on it (my word was Dowling). We made the paper by taking strips of Trader Joe´s paper bags and we dipped them in a glue and water mix. Then we put it on wax paper. We did strips vertical and horizontal. Then with sharpies we wrote our word in hieroglyphics and we made a design around the paper.

Secret Snack: Can you guess where we last did secret snack? I think it is pretty obvious!!!

Read-a-thon: Starting May 1st we stared a read-a -thon. A read-a-thon is where the whole month of May we read! Our goal is 3,000 minutes. I think we are going to beat our class goal!

Writers Workshop: In writers workshop we are working on our books. I can’t believe I’m already on my 8th page on my final draft. Can you believe my book is 16 pages long? Well, I can’t!!!!!

Collaboration: In collaboration we are now studying Egypt. Can you believe that Orli’s dad came in to class to teach us some Arabic! We also learned some very interesting facts.

Readers Workshop: In Reader’s Workshop we are doing something called super magazine. My favorite page is page 20 it is called sunny side up. On the page it tells you ho to do a little prank. Here is how you do it: You will need vanilla yogurt, a colorful plate & a spoon, canned peach halves, paper towel and toast. This is what you do: You put a few spoonfuls of yogurt on the plate. Then you smooth out the yogurt. It should look like an egg white. Dry one peach half with a paper towel. Put the peach half with the cut side down on the egg white. Then set toast on the plate next to the egg and see who you can fool!

Art: In art we are doing something with a loom. I like doing it and I think mine looks beautiful!

ABC Countdown: On May 1st we started. A was Author day ( bring in a favorite book ). B was blow bubbles day an C was chalk day. Today is C. Tomorrow is D for DANCE PARTY!!!!!!!!!!! As you may be able to tell, I am very exited!

Gym: We started our baseball unit. I love our baseball unit!

Math: In math we are working on 3-digit addition and subtraction! To be honest I think it is a little challenging.

Moving Day: Today was moving day. Moving day is where you move out of the cardboard house you live in. I am taking a few things and the house and my partner, Harper is going to have the rest of the stuff.

Collaboration: In collaboration we finished our Eiffel towers. Ours did not look as planned. Here is a picture:

Math: We are learning how to do addition problems with 3-digit numbers up to one thousand.

Writers Workshop: I just figured out how to put it all together. I think my book is going to be a big success.

Game Day: Today it is game day. Game day is when you bring in a board game or card game. Some board games people brought in is: a hatchamal game, slamwitch and pay day. The one I brought was well, it didn’t really have a name.

Writers  Workshop: For writers workshop I just finished getting all the facts for my book. I have all the facts just I don’t know how to put it all together.

Hebrew/Jewish Studies: In Hebrew and Jewish studies we just finished finishing are imovie. I think that mine was really cool.

Story: We have finished reading The Secrets Of  Ms. Snickel’s Class. We are now making a book that is called The Secrets Of Gev. Dowling’s Class. I think that my secret was a very good secret ( the secrets were fiction ).

Homeless: We are learning about homeless people and how they survive. It is interesting to see where they live and how they survive. I think that I am going to enjoy this unit.

Royalville Activities: We are now doing secret haver. If you did not know what a secret haver is it is when you each have a person that you need to give something to! And at the end of week you each share to the person you have that it was you that was giving the present. I know who mine is but I will not say!

Math: I think that we are at the end of our math unit. In the beginning we were learning time but now we are learning about picture graphs and bar graphs.

Writing: We are still finding out some more interesting things to put in our nonfiction book! And if you did not know, my topic is about puppies. If you are going more specific it is how to take care of a puppy 6 to 12 weeks old. I love all thee facts I am learning doing all this research! I love researching things!

Gym: In gym we are now doing the unit of jump roping. I was 5 seconds close to getting into the 1 minute club!

Purim: On Thursday we had a whole big Purim celebration thing. At the carnival I got 7 tickets and I got face paint and some hair chalk. I got 2 prizes. One of the prizes was a plastic magic wand. And the other prize was a not a watch but sorta like a game watch just not electronic. Well, the game was there were 2 balls and there were 2 holes and you needed to get the 2 balls in the 2 holes. I think it is really fun.

Art: We are making puppets. I was trying to make an elephant. I think that mine looks very good. At first when I told my friends that I was making dreadlocks they said,” Dreadlocks are bad.” I told my babysitter about what they said. She said that dreadlocks are not bad so now I will tell my friends in art class that dreadlocks are not bad. I will also tell them that dreadlocks are very important in some religions. I love art class!

Reading: In reading we are learning about somethings that the author Gail Gibbons does and maybe somethings that we would want to do in our book. I think that like her I am going to put more illustrations then words and also to do lots of labels. I am really inspired from Gail Gibbons.

Today we had parsha. A question I still have is how did they get all of there stuff, for example there animals, gold and oil? See ya next time!

Today we shopped in the community store. I think that me and Harper’s house looks really cool. We have tones of things in our house, we even have a marine poster! I think it is really cool. And guess what, I get to live in the house first! I also think that the design we used for the paint was really cool! Also the store had EVERYTHING!!!!!!! There was even a Jewish star you could hang on the door ( me and Harper got it ). We also got this non-working phone! I think the store was so cool! It had so much! I loved the store. Oh, and if it was not obvious that Harper was my partner. I love her as a partner! Oh, I forgot to tell you how the store works! So each house goes to the store at a time and they get want they want. But, they can not get 2 of the same thing. Me and Harper got to the store last but the first thing I grabbed was a curtain because there were some blinds and I did not want them. Luckily I grabbed the curtains just in time! I think the store was really cool. There was even a garbage can and clock! Just saying that right now I am in the house doing the blog post. I get to live in the house first! There was this candle that I brought in, I was hoping to get it but Shiri and Maddy got it first! 🙁 Still are house looks good on the outside and even the inside! Soon Gev. Dowling will put in shelves. I think that the shelves will look really cool! I love our house so much. I feel it is a masterpiece! Oh, by the way our curtains are yellow!

Maple Sugaring: We had a field trip. At the field trip we learned about maple trees. We learned that now in days we use a plastic thing to get the sap. Okay, let me start from the beginning. So the plastic thing is what gets the sap from the Maple Trees. So they have this bag and the plastic thing. So they stick the plastic thing in the tree. Then they get the sap. The legend was that a Native American took his bucket and he took his saw and he stuck it in the tree. Now he did not know that it was a Maple tree. But he went out to look at the birds. Now he forgot that he was supposed to go outside to get water. So the wife was getting a little suspicious of where his husband had went. So she went outside and she saw the bucket but she did not find her husband. So she took the bucket and managed to carry it back in. So she made the soup. But they still did not know that instead of water in the soup they had put sap in the soup. Do you think that is a true story? Well, also what we did is we made necklaces. We carved this stick that you could carve. Then we put a string through it and boom you have a necklace. I really enjoyed the field trip!

Hebrew And Jewish Studies: We finished our kibbutz station and just finished our sign. I think our station will be very fun!

5 Square: In 5 square I beat my personal record it used to be 90 and now it is 113!
Community Project: I am  exited that I am the town judge! I think we are having a meeting today!

Collaboration: We are learning about Japan and our project we are doing is about haiku. With a straw we blew some paint and it made a very cool design!

Math: We had a review test. I think I did very well!

Today we had Parsha. A question I still have is where the heck did the jews  get all there gold?
