Today’s Challenge: Create a new kind of cereal and its box. Using a piece of poster board, you and your team need to create your own box, with the goal of having the largest possible volume.

Teamwork Rubric Focus (Participation):

My goal for participation today within my team is to not scream at them.

My Individual Plan <insert photo of sketch and/or type out a plan>

I will make my cereal box as big as a regular cereal box

Why I think my plan will be successful: Because it is easy and simple and the massive cereal brands do it.

Our Group’s Plan <insert photo or sketch and/or type out the plan>

our group’s plan is to make it as long as possible in a cylinder.

We chose this plan because if it’s long and wide there will be a big volume.

Possible challenges that may come up during construction it might not be stable and fall.

Each team member will be responsible for 2 builders, 1 taper and 1 cutter.

After the Build

Our design worked well because it was super tall.

This activity was challenging because the tape kept falling off.

This activity was comfortable because my group worked well together.

I met my teamwork participation goal by actually doing my job which was coloring.

A strength of my team was we stopped arguing after we started working.

An area of growth for my team is focusing on the task.

For our next challenge, my new teamwork participation goal for myself is to not arguing with my group.

Index Card Challenge

Today’s Challenge: Using only an index card and scissors find a way to cut your index card so you can fit your entire body through it.

Teamwork Rubric Focus (Organization/Planning):

My goal for organization/planning today within my team is to have a really set idea.

My Individual Plan <insert photo of sketch and/or type out a plan>

My plan is to squeeze in the smallest person in the hole.

Why I think my plan will be successful: I think this would be successful because we will cut a big hole so it would be easier to fit through.

Our Group’s Plan <insert photo or sketch and/or type out the plan>

We are going to cut slits into sections.

We chose this plan because it would be easy

Possible challenges that may come up during construction it might break

Each team member will be responsible for cutting g and sticking the slits in other slits.

After the Build

<insert photo of group member fitting through the index card>

Our design worked well because a person could fit through it.

This activity was challenging because my group’s plan did not work the way they thought.

This activity was comfortable because we had enough time to cut and connect.

I met my teamwork organization/planning goal by having jobs for everyone.

A strength of my team was we had a really small person.

An area of growth for my team is our thinking process.

For our next challenge, my new teamwork organization/planning goal for myself is to do more things in my group.

Why are Midterm Elections Important?

What do Midterm Elections decide in the government?

They add new people to Congress and take other peoples jobs away.

How are citizens impacted by Midterm Elections?

The Congress members say what they will do for them and it is for the citizens.

What can citizens do to get people they want to be elected?

They are allowed to vote for new Congress members.

Why do Midterm Elections exist?

So we get people that might make a bigger difference in America.

Why is it important for different groups of people to run for government positions?

So we get new laws if we need them, or they can add something new for the U.S.A.
