Math:

We will be wrapping up Unit 3 this week!Students are now able to use place value to understand how to round whole numbers to the nearest 10 or 100. They are also able to fluently add and subtract within 1,000 using strategies and algorithms based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction.

ELA:
We continue to write about family and important memories during our Polacco author study. Please help your child with their family interview this evening. We continue to explore parts of speech and today discussed commas in dates, city/state and opening and closing of a letter during our grammar time. Today, we started our MLK unit. Working in partnerships, students will read and answer questions, write short paragraphs about Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Civil Rights Movement.

Social Studies: ask your child what they are planning to study for our India unit. Ask them about their research questions and what type of project they are planning to do for Global Experience!
