- What happens to the little pieces of dead plants and animals that scavengers leave behind? It could be eaten by other scavengers. It could just decompose because the scavenger ate a lot of it. Or it could be buried by the wind by getting dirt blown over it.
- What happens to the scavengers’ droppings? Some scavengers eat it. Since it’s natural waste it could decompose. Or when/if people kicked it around and it would eventually get buried.
- What happens to the scavengers’ bodies when they die? The beetles make a hole under the dead beetle and bury it. The beetles also roll up the body in a ball and (if it has feathers) pull them off. If the beetles get there when the animal is dry, they eat it.
