Invention Convention Project Proposal

Name:

Smishelow21

What ideas have you brainstormed?

A tripod that pops out of your phone or phone case

What is the problem you identified?

People having to carry around big heavy tripods.

What is the solution to your problem?  Please include a labeled sketch.

The solution is that the tripod can just pop out of your phone and it can fit in a smaller space.

Where did I look to see if the idea was new?

I looked at the images I got when I searched for a tripod that pops out of your phone(I don’t remember exactly what I searched)

What materials do I need?

Cardboard, paint,my chromebook,(since I will probably not be using a real phone, the chromebook is for looking up a picture of a phone so I can paint it on) A phone case,(so I can measure it or see how a tripod could fit in that)a button thing(to make the tripod pop out)

Maybe: Something bendy so that I can see how a tripod could fit in a phone case.

What is my plan?

I will make a fake phone and phone case out of cardboard and then make a fake tripod that fits and can pop out of the phone case/

What help do I need from others?

I’m not sure what I will need help with yet.

Experiential Exodus Reflection

Now looking back, I’m not sure if the kindergartners really learned what locusts was, it was more like I told them how to do my activity and then they did it. Some of them might have figured it out, but I think that I could have done a better job of explaining. Since this was a fun activity and they had to move around and block the locusts, I think that they were engaged in the activity, because I’m pretty sure not being engaged means not listening or paying attention, and if they weren’t paying attention, they wouldn’t know what to do. I didn’t change my plan between groups because my activity was pretty basic and there wasn’t much to change. I already had the props for it and it wouldn’t make sense to change anything. If I had had more time to brainstorm and make my project, I would probably have locusts that actually moved when I threw them, and painted crops instead of cardboard that I drew on. If I could do this again, something I would definitely not make the locusts out of Styrofoam and cardboard because the Styrofoam and cardboard kind  of just floated and went very slow.
