ETC Animal Challenge

ETC Animal Challenge –Using 25 legos, create an animal.

What went well today?

What went well was made a cuteish turtle and it was very fun.

What was challenging?

What was challenging was that we didn’t have that many legos and the ones we did have were kind of hard to make something with. Also we didn’t have much time, 15 minutes.

Was there anything you would do differently if given this task again?

I would switch my role so that I could do different things.

How did group roles help your team?

It helped because we knew, who was recording and who was keeping everyone on task because without them everyone would probably want to do everything.

After this experience, are there any changes you would make to group roles?

I think that ” time keeper” and ” chat captain” are kind of the same thing, they are both trying to keep the group on task even though it is for different reasons. I think that we should change it to “time keeper” and “chat captain” being the same role and maybe think of another role or separate them if it’s a group of four.

Art Museum 11/15

3 things that I learned today was; 1. Paint used to be made with wax. 2. Now that we have cameras people make abstract art because we don’t need people to paint our pictures, they can just take our pictures. 3. There are several copies of Greek statues because they were originally made of copper that was melted down to make things.

2 wonders I have; 1. Why do people make art? 2. How long does it take to make a painting? (even though we only need two I’m going to do a couple more) 3. How does art get into the Art Museum? 4. How long does it stay in the Art Museum?

1 thing am excited about and might want to do for Junior Docent;  Either Georgia O’Keeffe Lake George Autumn or Georgia O’Keeffe Red and Brown Leaves.

1. Reflect on your thinking, learning and work from Thursday and Friday. What were you most proud of?

I was most proud of how far the paper airplane flew and also that we finished it because the video tutorial was really hard.

2.What lessons were learned from failure during this project?

I learned that even though it’s annoying, you should make your folds exact. Otherwise the airplane won’t work as well as in the video.  I also learned that on Monday because I didn’t make the nose exact and then the nose got smooshed when I threw it.

3. When did you incounter struggle in this project, and what did you do to deal with it?

I incountered struggle when the airplanes were hard to make. I dealed with it by just keeping making the airplane and going on with it.

4. Where did you meet success and who might benefit most from what you’ve learned today? How can you share this with them?

I met success when we did a more easy airplane, it worked good and it was easy to make. I think this will benefit my sister, Harper because I can teach her how to make them and we can have fun together. I can share this with her by showing her my paper airplanes and teaching her how to make them.
