Growing

Welcome back to school.  I hope everyone had a wonderful break including lots of fun family time.  I was so excited to see everyone this morning and excited to start talking about our new unit… planting and growing.  We began with a visit to the “big idea room” to talk about seeds with Adon Kaufman.  We sorted, examined, and questioned.  Lots of wonder happening this morning including a big discussion wondering if tomatoes are fruits or vegetables.  We are all still wondering about this…. We will begin planting seeds in our mini makerspace next door to our class. The children will choose the foods and flowers they wish to grow.  They do not know this part yet, but ultimately they will each take some plants home, and donate others to Moo Eh Ku Shee’s family.  This is the little girl who visited our class the week before break. They just moved into a new home, and we are hoping to get them a garden from the Victory Garden Initiative.  Stay tuned for more news about this. Happy spring (sort of)!
