Programming Hanukkah Cards

When we were coding the Hanukkah cards, we did a remix of someones Hanukkah card from last year, and then edited their card. I really like coding, because I’ve been coding for a long time, and I sometimes do it in my free time. Coding the Hanukkah card was pretty easy for me, because I already was good at coding, and I already had the base of the card, but sense it was just a card, I turned into a game instead. I learned how to document my coding, and how to build off of someone game/card that’s not mine.

Here’s the Link to my remix of the other Hanukkah card. Use the arrow keys to move the Jewish Stars to hit the Latkah! Get as many points as you can in 1 min.! Hanukkah Card Remix!!!!!!

Building Reflection

What about the building process was challenging? At the beginning, I couldn’t figure out what I was gonna build.

How did your build differ from your plan? (If your build was different than your plan, update your plan!) I used different materials, and I kept changing my plan.

How did your group work well together during the build? What would you do again? I was working alone.

How did your group struggle during the build? What would you change? I was working alone.

Explorers Reflection

What about this project went well for you? Explain. I think that I did really good because people were laughing a little bit and they told me that I did really good and that they gave me all 4’s.

What about this project did not go well for you? Explain. I was a little embarrassed because I thought that my drawings were really bad and that my animation would glitch or something like that.

How can you create a better project next time? I shouldn’t take so much time picking out the explorer that I want to do, and ask for help when I need it.

How did you think the planning process went? Were you able to find all the information you needed? At the beginning I had a little trouble finding information, but later I got better at finding the info because I understood it a little better.

What could Adon Kaufman and Gev. Noorlander do differently next time? Nothing.

What impact did explorers make? They found and claimed places.

Dissection Reflection

  • What is the value of dissecting? We learned how to dissect fish, and learned the body parts of the fish. For example: I didn’t know that the sea lamprey’s teeth looked like a big orange sponge.

  • How did the dissection help you understand what is happening between the sea lamprey and the trout? Because now we know how much more dangerous the sea lamprey are to the trout.

  • How did you feel about dissection? If you enjoyed the process, why did you enjoy it? If you did not enjoy it, what was difficult about it? I didn’t enjoy it, because it really stank, and it looked very gross looking inside of the body.

Rapunzel Planning Reflection

How did spending more time on planning improve your final blueprint? It improved it because I could take my time so I didn’t have to rush and now when I do the real thing I look back on the project and I can do nearly whatever I wrote in the blueprints.

How did your group come to one final plan after brainstorming several ideas? I worked alone.

Why do you think taking more time to plan was important? Because I could take my time so I didn’t have to rush and now when I do the real thing I look back on the project and I can do nearly whatever I wrote in the blueprints.

Did brainstorming with multiple people help you come up with more ideas? How? I wasn’t in a group.

What would you differently during the planning process next time? Focus a little better.
